400-year-old musket balls fired from a modern shotgun

Jeff from TAOFLEDERMAUS and Officer Gregg are back with this special ammunition that’s a blast from the past.

Simon, a viewer from the UK, sent TAOFLEDERMAUS a collection of 17th century musket balls he had collected from years of metal detecting.

The age of the ammo was determined from the location where they were discovered, the caliber, and the amount of lead oxide. These rounds were most likely used during the English Civil War, which lasted from 1642 to 1651.

Many of the projectiles look as though they were never fired but lost or dropped near the battlefield.
