New And Improved AR-15 Chainsaw Bayonet Meets Consumer Demand [VIDEO]

After a massive blunder by USA Today, demand for the AR-15 “chainsaw bayonet” has never been higher. Click here to see the original news story that tried to use the chainsaw attachment as an anti-gun scare tactic.

Invented by Robert Weir in 2012, the chainsaw bayonet started as a joke, but has quickly become the poster-child for all things ridiculously awesome.

Weir, an outdoorsman and inventor, originally designed the rifle attachment as a publicity stunt to get people to stop by his DoubleStar booth at SHOT Show 2012. “I could see from the smiles and the glee on people’s faces that if we did not manufacture them, someone else was going to.” Weir wrote on his website.

From 2012 to 2017 Weir sold 100 chainsaws for about $800 a piece through his Nevada-based LLC, Panacea X. Then the USA story broke and his sales exploded. Unable to keep up with demand, Weir had a 2-month long back-order in January of this year.

He decided to go back to the drawing board and improve the now legendary attachment. Take a look at the latest model in his video below.
