As technology advances and new and exciting things are being invented on almost a daily basis, it’s interesting to see advances in firearms (at least to me anyway). But to make the claim of being the “ultimate” in anything, that’s a pretty bold thing to say right? So, is the .338 LAPUA really the “Ultimate Sniper Caliber” ?
Well, since the claim was made, let’s see just how well the .338 Lapua Magnum does under pressure. Using the AR-30A1 .338 LAPUA TARGET RIFLE, our intrepid host, does his best to see if the claim made was just idle boast, or true to form. One of the ultimate challenges for any rifle, is to see if it will save a man from being lynched.
We’ve seen it done in several Cowboy films, hell, even Clint Eastwood did it in the film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. But can it be really be done in real life…watch the video and see for yourself. The one thing the .338 Lapua Magnum does bring to the table, is a heavier bullet with alot more knock-down power than the .308 and at a greater distance.
