Like its mass produced fraternal twin, the M1 carbine, the M2 was a .30 cal carbine made during and immediately following WWII.
Unlike its brother, the M2 features a fire selection switch.
While they didn’t see as much time in combat as the M1, the M2 was used in both the European and Pacific theaters. As the war continued, many M1s were converted to include select fire. The carbine would continue to see use in combat through the Korean war.
