Scientists redesign shotgun slug for incredible accuracy and stability

TAOFLEDERMAUS is more than willing to take anything you send him and shoot it from a shotgun.

In his latest episode of β€œYou Make It, We Shoot It” Jeff looks at some unique pawn-shaped slugs designed by a group of scientists in Finland.

These slugs were fabricated by a 3D printer to create a unique organic shape that Jeff has never seen before.

The first slug performed incredibly well with β€œpin-point” accuracy, but the split-fin design left much to be desired.

Jeff had some trouble finding the right amount of powder while loading these plastic slugs and destroyed the stabilizing tail of the final lead-ballast design.

We’d love to see how these plastic slugs perform after being re-cast as solid lead projectiles!
