This thing is not lightweight but is well built. I agree with another review that you should remove the endcap and squirt some oil (gun oil works) so the telescoping prods go in and out easier. First time I flicked it out, before oiling, it nearly took an elephant to get it back in. This is part of my non-lethal defense system. Good value.

Its a nice little baton! About the size of my forearm, but it packs a punch. It fits nicely in a small bag or large purse. It is however kind of tough to close straight out of the box. The directions recommend slamming it on the ground to close it, but I found much more success giving it a few taps with a hammer. Also BEFORE you go swinging it open for the first time make sure to unscrew the bottom, pull it apart and thoroughly oil the moving parts. This made it much easier to close (still with the hammer though) and it doesnt seem like it will accidentally close when mid swing just because of the weight of the tip. All in all it seems worth the $24 I paid for it!
