The North Mountain Blade Chop 2 Crossbar Lock takes the squared-off Japanese tanto silhouette that made the Chop a cult favorite and puts it in a $50 workhorse. You get a 3.5" black-coated D2 tool steel tanto with a strong secondary point, a fully ambidextrous crossbar lock that drops the blade free with one hand, and a bronze thumb disk on the extended tang that doubles as a striker and opening aid. Pick Blue Canvas Micarta, Green Canvas Micarta or Purple G10 handles, all with bronze hardware and a reversible deep-carry pocket clip.
At 8" overall and about 4.2 oz it carries like a mid-size EDC but cuts like something bigger: the 3.5 mm blade stock, flat grinds and tanto tip handle boxes, rope and food prep without flexing, and the black finish keeps D2 from spotting in a sweaty pocket. The micarta versions pick up character as they wear in. The purple G10 version adds a black stonewash blade and NMB-T blade mark. Every Chop 2 Crossbar Lock ships boxed from our Miami warehouse.
