The Reate Knives Vulpex VK-FROK is the compact, hard-use member of Reate's collaboration with designer Steven Kempa of Vulpex Knives. This all-black build pairs a satin black DLC Elmax blade with black PVD titanium handles and bead-blasted zirconium accents, set off by a copper-toned thumb stud that gives the murdered-out package a single warm highlight.
The 3.25″ blade is ground from Bohler-Uddeholm Elmax, a powder stainless steel that delivers excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance thanks to its high chromium content, then finished in satin under a black DLC coating that shrugs off wear. The broad, slightly upswept profile gives it real cutting belly for its size.
Deployment is your choice of flipper tab or thumb stud, riding on bearings for the glassy action Reate is known for, and lockup is handled by a solid titanium frame lock. The sculpted titanium handle fills the hand despite the 4.75″ closed length, and a titanium pocket clip carries it right-hand, tip-up. At 4.4 oz it feels dense and purposeful without being heavy.
