We’re always concerned any time a weapon’s biggest selling point is a variety of color options. With a name like Spectrum, Taurus is putting this feature on front street.
The Taurus Spectrum .380 ACP made its big debut at SHOT Show 2017, and the show booth had more than a few floor models on display. Apart from the colorful grips, the Spectrum is a completely corenerless gun. With nothing but smooth edges, Taurus hopes the Spectrum will become the new normal for the growing pocket-pistol market.
The primary goal was ergonomics. Using poured soft overmolding in place of traditional grips and serrations, Taurus has created a pistol that’s easy to use without any rough edges. The rainbow of options came as an afterthought once they realized the overmolding could be poured in nearly any color.
In the video below the Taurus rep discusses the Spectrum’s unique features that make it more than just a colorful novelty.
