Wilson Combat introduces the “hardest hitting AR carbine ever produced” in .458 HAM’R [VIDEO]

The HAM’R is designed from concept to completion to be the hardest hitting, most powerful (practical size) AR platform carbine ever produced, exceeding the ballistics of the .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM and .500 Beowulf. By using an AR10 size bolt and barrel extension, this new cartridge is capable of handling maximum pressures of 46,000 PSI while enabling it to exceed 3,000 foot pounds of energy from a short 18” barrel.

The gas-operated VR80 uses upper and lower receivers made from 7075-T6 aluminum, takes 2.75- or 3-inch shells, and comes with flip-up sights. The 20-inch barrel has a protective shroud to keep it from being dented (we’re looking at you 3-Gunners), and the lower receiver is compatible with most commercial AR-15 buffer tubes, stocks and pistol grips, so you can make it your own. The VR80 is supplied with a five-round detachable magazine.

It’s certainly among the most well-made models currently available in the PGO firearm class, and a more manageable option than some thanks to the recoil-softening Versa Max gas system.
